Storytelling

Storytelling strengthens...business by creating shared experiences that knit us together...and [maintain] a unity of purpose that fuels...success.
— Nancy Duarte

Why Is It So Important?

There is power in your story! Blinded by immersion in the organization and/or lacking storytelling talent and culture, many organizations fail to capture and disseminate the best parts about themselves. And yet, time and again research shows that it's an organizations story that most resonates with customers, especially millennials.

With countless ways to both craft and deliver stories, it's difficult to discern how to proceed. I have aided dozens of organizations to see what they do in a new light, storyboard the concepts, produce them using accessible publication tools, and share them easily with "best-fit" technology to dramatically improve their connection with customers.

How I Execute

STORY ASSESSMENT

I listen closely to the story that you are telling. Then, I create a narrative board to help you visualize an 'outside-in' perspective, and identify areas for improvement.

STORY CULTURE

Often extracting, crafting, and broadcasting stories seems complicated and burdensome. However, by intentionally creating a culture that understands and values the power of your story, I am able to guide you toward a much more efficient way of delivering the best news that you, and even better, your customers want to tell.

CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT

I kick-start your story culture by storyboarding for you and even directing the production of new stories. Together, we watch and measure to response to inform the way forward.

FREELANCE CONTRIBUTIONS

Sometimes you just want a fresh voice added to the stream you already have developed. I take assignments to write around specific topics, trends, and events, most often around the topics of millennial life, faith in America, and philanthropy.
